I find it funny (not funny haha, funny strange) how music can bring to the surface emotions and memories that you think were gone forever. Listening to certain music brings back memories of times, places and persons from so many years ago. It’s like a different me lived them. I see, hear, and even feel the sensations, but hardly recognize the person that experienced them. It’s somebody that I used to know. Somebody I used to understand. And somebody I sometimes wish I still was.

The fearlessness has been replaced with the strict, conscious weighing of responsibility to the reward the experience would bring. With the longing for the carefree abandon of rushing in now comes the knowledge of what can be lost by the consequence of rash decision.

The feelings sometimes weigh heavily on the older mind, but memories serve as both a comfort and warning to those that are open to them. Reminiscing brings forth both the ache for what’s past, and the shocking revelation of the knowledge gained from it.

The key is to live in the present, acknowledging the past and all it has done to shape the person I’ve become and keep my eye on the future by putting that knowledge to use.

DDC Media Group is starting to take off! A couple of new clients in the past month! Being busy (and making $$) rocks!
I haven’t played music in a long while (this is a BAD thing )
I love Spotify
I still play online games…and can’t hardly wait until Guild Wars 2 is released!
Right now WoW and Rift are played in my spare time.
I’ve been keeping Dayton Design Company’s site updated with specials and tweaking the looks a bit here and there.
Converting client pages to the Facebook timeline is both fun and time consuming!
I spend too much time on Twitter
My birthday has come and gone and I don’t feel older! Take that aging!
Visiting my mom and Danny was a great time. Can’t wait to do it again!

Busy, busy, oh so Busy.

Maybe the time around the holidays wasn’t the best time to delve into continuing education and launching a new line of services for business…but hey I guess I’m crazy like that.
The past weeks have been filled with classes, long hours setting up the technical side of my new services, and more long hours of trial and error when things “just didn’t work”. I believe most of the bugs have been ironed out now and we officially launched DDC Media Group last Friday.
I’m very proud to share our new Social Media Management services. So far, it’s been going very well…we’ve been building our Facebook fan base, Twitter followers, and working on propagating our email list. My goal is to have contracted a new client with the SMM service by Christmas. The days have been flying by quickly as I’ve been busy finding relevant content to keep our sites fresh and engaging. Working 10-12 hours per day, but totally happy doing it, because it doesn’t FEEL like work. Growing the company to the point of adding contracted employees is my goal in the next year.

Oh! And Christmastime’s a comin’! That’s always a crazy busy time for us as well as the rest of the world I’m a bit behind on my shopping but thankfully shopping online is easy! I’ll be baking this weekend and wrapping presents. Looking forward to spending time with my Momma and her new hubby after Christmas, as well as seeing my in-laws and my Pops and family too! I LOVE CHRISTMAS!

Long day…

This rainy weather has really got me in a bit of a funk. The gray gloom coupled with the sound of the rain and wind triggers my urge to sleep. And that’s all I’ve wanted to do for several days…sleep.

I have resisted the urge, though at 8pm this evening, I was ready to tuck myself into my bed and call it a night Hopefully, the weather will cooperate and allow me to get some much needed vitamin D soon!

In other news, Bill and I are getting ready to celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary. It’s hard to believe that time has flown by so quickly. Seems like yesterday I was a stupid, young 20-something and while stumbling through, happened across a jewel that would fulfill the gap in my life.

I finally renewed my subscription to satellite radio last month. I’d stopped my subscription before because I never listened to it and why pay for something you don’t use. Well, a 5 month sub for $20 drew me in and I re-upped my subscription. I’ve found that I listen to my radio as I’m working, and playing on the computer. Also, I can turn it up while I’m doing housework and it helps the time pass.

My favorite station is “Alt. Nation”. There’s tunes on there that are horrid, but I’d say I enjoy about 80% of the music and that’s a lot for me

Another birthday has come and went. I’ve accomplished a lot in my 37 years, but I always feel that there’s “more”. I’m not sure what the “more” is, but on days like today, I’m unsatisfied.

My dreams are filled with adventure, my daily life is filled with repetitive actions, conversations, sights and sounds. My dream-self longs to take off and live, while my real-self stodgily tackles the day. Mornings are a bittersweet affair. So many times I want to roll back over and find the spot I left off, but that’s not responsible.

Bleh, being in a rut isn’t fun, but as they say, “this too, shall pass”.
